Bloated Nightmares

What's the use of another blog when you have three or four other blogs out there? Nothing, really, except privacy and keeping your anonimity, especially when you accidently bash people and tarnish their good names. :) I haven't done that, but soon, maybe.

Anyway, most of my photos are for FRIENDS ONLY because I'm a biatch. Get over it.

The Love Letter

Dear ***,

I tried to recover my failing courage, my saliva uncomfortably stuck in my throat. I closed my eyes and enveloped my fingers around my hot cup of coffee, bracing myself for the coldness I might be getting after I let you see my soul – bare, honest, scared and horribly wanting. I wasn’t brave enough to tell you that time, I’m not built to accept too much rejection. So I’m writing this letter because I’m too much of a coward to tell you that I love you, more than I expected. I surprised myself too, you know, I’m the selfish kind. I would probably feel like I won the lottery if you told me you loved me too. But who the heck wins the lottery anyway – one out of millions who are willing to bet a couple of bucks. I wish I had picked the right combination – the right person, place and time to love but sadly, I wouldn’t know even if the winning ticket stared me in the face. Don’t feel sorry for me – it is like feeling sorry for millions who bet their twenty bucks – the difference is t...

I have been fascinated with guns and shooting for quite some time. I enrolled in a Rifle Pistol Marksmanship class when I was in college and got my license to buy a real gun *exes beware* from having completed the final exams.

Taste my Maple at Cerealicious

If you're looking for a way to enjoy cereal outside your home, you can drop by the nearest Cerealicious where you can experiment with assorted cereal brands, different kinds of toppings, syrups, ice cream and a wide variety of milk choices.

New Post at Tanggera: Egai Sai 2008

Okay, I was supposed to name this post "JAPANESE VIRGINS" to lure you to maybe watch the Eiga Sai 2008, a Japanese Film Festival organized by The Japan Foundation, Manila and the Embassy of Japan. I find Jap flicks funny, although they border on the violent or sexual. Who doesn't like violent and sexy films, huh?

ere are the list of films to be shown this year.

We Shall Overcome Someday (Pacchigi, 2005, directed by Kazuyuki Izutsu)
Canary (Kanaria , 2004, directed by Akihiko Shiota),
Hanging Garden (Kuchu teien, 2005, directed by Toshiaki Toyoda),
A Stranger of Mine (Unmei ja nai hito, 2004, directed by Kenji Uchida)
Juvenile Jungle (Kurutta Kajitsu, 1956, directed by Ko Nakahira).
Linda Linda Linda (Rinda Rinda Rinda, 2005, directed by Nobuhiro Yamashita)

Anime/mangas:
Chibi Maruko Chan (1990, written by Momoko Sakura)
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (Toki o Kakeru Shōujo, 2001, directed by Mamoru Hosoda)

It will be shown at the Shangri-La Mall, UP Film Institute and the Cultural Center of the ...

New Post at Tanggera: Enjoying an indie at Cubao X

I'm not really a fan of Cubao. I only go there when I have friends from Quezon City who want to meet up at the Gateway mall or when I watch UAAP competitions at the Araneta Coliseum. I spent three months at Cubao when I was finishing my internship at the Resources for the Blind Inc. and it wasn't fun inhaling all the EDSA-generated filthy air.

John Torres and cast explaining

But last week, I went to Cubao to see this indie "Years When I was a Child Outside" by John Torres, a 105-minute meta-film which was an entirely new experience for me as an indie film viewer. It was all about being an outsider, shown in different accounts like being an outsider in a relationship, in a family, or in a strange place. This John Torres guy is famous for making films out of footages that are not really staged. He just brings his camera along and experiments with a bunch of people or shoot in different places then comes up with a film using all these unadulterated scenes. Some parts of the movie were stage...

Mr. Fartface - my dream date

Okay, you might be wondering why a girl in her right mind would want to date a loser like a fartface. Actually, I just want to date that guy who's wearing Mr. Fartface, one of the characters from a collection of graphic misfits that pay tribute to character stereotypes. You can wear Mr. Fartface as a t-shirt and 20 other fabulous little rebels like Ms. Bitch, Mr. Tight Wad, Mr. Masturbate or Ms. Boobjob. Although a bit offensive, all these misfits from the "Little Losers" collection by Todd Goldman, are really clever and even salutes your inner bitch.

Chicks tees

Dudes tees

Anyway, because I can't think of anything else, I'll do what AJ did here.
PETA’S THEATER-IN-EDUCATION COURSES TEACHES INNOVATIONS IN THE CLASSROOM

Just PR for PETA. Maybe you might know someone who's interested. Thanks.

The new school year is almost here! As students squeeze-out the most of their remaining vacation time, teachers are already preparing for the year ahead. And for those looking for new ways to teach, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) is offering 5-day courses on the use of creative means to do so.

“We recognize that with all the entertainment and gaming fares that students have grown accustomed to outside the classrooms and in their homes, teachers will need out-of-the-box means of getting students to understand their lessons and participate in class activities. These courses will make learning fun not only for students but for teachers as well,” says a PETA artist-teacher.

Aside from offering regular theater and arts courses, PETA has also pioneered the Theater-in-Education (TIE) Courses to make classroom teaching more interesting and engaging by introducing creative means of teachin...

How to Lose Weight

As opposed to the SLR (single reflex camera), the TLR (twin reflex camera) has two lenses - one that takes the photo and another one for viewing at one's waist level. So you don't put the whole camera against your face just to look at what you're shooting at. It is just like a point and shoot digital camera using film (Tama ba, Juned?). Kinda cool, huh?

The whole point of me explaining to you how the heck a TLR camera works is showing you this piece of work by Juned Sonido using a TLR.

Gawd, I practically look ANOREXIC in this photo. Effin' fantastic! No editing on my part. I guess Juned just shot it, had the film processed and scanned and vwahla!

See, I actually lost weight without exercising or dieting.

Manika ko! @ Kasiglahan Village

I did some video and photo blogging at Kasiglahan Village, Montalban, Rizal last Saturday for a "good cause". I was happy to oblige, I'm cool with kiddoes. If you haven't heard, Kasiglahan Village is one of the resettlement/relocation sites also known as "Erap City".

Filipinos like to put their best foot forward - dress up nicely when going to church or use the most expensive China we have when we have guests. Houses at "Erap City" are pretty. They're made of concrete walls, some of them painted, with their yards lined with Bougainvilleas or Santan. But "Erap City" residents usually sleep on cartons or makeshift beds. The resettlement site is also 45 minutes away from the city - residents would be spending half (if not all) of what they earn for their fare alone. Most of them don't go to school anymore because it is just too far from home.

Now, everytime you buy a Manika ko! doll, you are "helping fund free art workshops that teach Filipino children to create a bright and colorf...
